Windows 10: Import Star Ratings Into Windows Media Player

I use Windows Media Player to manage my mp3 music library, and I can't get the star ratings to import into my new Windows 11 computer. On my old Windows 10 computer, I successfully wrote the star ratings to the mp3 files, and I copied the files to the new computer. I'm using Windows Media Player Legacy version 12.0.26100.4061. I verified that the ratings show up in the mp3 files:But no ratings show up in Windows Media Player:When I initially copied the files, the ratings showed up for most of the files, but not all. In an attempt to get WMP to refresh the ratings for the rest of the files,

if i listen to music from my music files using windows media player i want to give a song certain start because its fast and easy. is it possible if i change stars in media player the stars also appear in my music files???
i want to listen to my music and base the stars on what i hear at that moment. if i change them in my files it takes too much time, need to find the song, need to open the songs details and then i can give it some stars.

if i give some stars in my files (the long way) they will automaticly show in media player

Windows Media Player Legacy Not using "Maintain my star rating as global ratings in files" setting

I'm using Windows 11 now just coming from Windows 10 on the same PC and the Star ratings are not being saved.

Even though the "Maintain my star rating as global ratings in files" is already set. I think it was there by default.

The older songs that I had in Windows 10 still have there ratings and the can be seen in file explorer and any Windows install.

The ratings can also be seen when I boot into another Windows 11 install but the new ratings are not there at all. I can only see them in the Windows Media Player where they were added.

As per your description. You want to listen to my music and based on stars.

When you apply ratings to songs in WMP, they are just applied in the library until you apply the changes with the command to your files. To do this:

You need to Run WMP offline

On the pane right next to Library, Music, Rating etc.

Right click on it > Click on Tools and then Apply Media Information Changes
