    Please read this before responding with "use SFC or DISM" as I tried EVERYTHING I could, with no avail.I have got an Asus Windows 10 Home laptop. It was working just fine before, until one day. I booted it up and normally signed into my account profile. After it signed in, it revealed my desktop, except that there were NO icons, NO system tray icons and the whole thing was unresponsive. I pressed Ctrl+Alt+Delete, normally revealing the security options. I clicked task manager, so I could run the command prompt, since Win+R didn't work. It didn't open, so I tried using automatic repair, lite

    Remove Linux Desktop Icons

    I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.

    NIGHTMARE icon in windows taskbar

    Ok ... this is really an annoying thingy in Windows Vista that till today. My top wish list is to solve this !!! *Bang Head :banghead:*Bang Head :banghead:*Bang Head :banghead:*Bang Head :banghead:*Bang Head :banghead:

    See attached pic ... for eg. open My Computer ... icon is of course as shown - the My Computer default Vista icon ... after you browse? *swoosh* kind of black magic ... it changes to that icon with the green arrow ... browsing back to My Computer it remains like that ... with the green arrow!!!

    This happens to any and all folders ! ... When you load it ... it comes up with the default folder ... after exporing through folder it changes ... and remains like that.

    For info : have tried a fresh installation of Vista to make sure that no bug got in. So must be some DAMN Vista settings

    Program that saves the location of Desktop icons?

    Are there any programs that will save the locations of my desktop icons? every time I play a game or my computer goes to sleep they get all f*&^ed up and its pissing me off.
