Windows 10: Imported pictures compressed/smaller

I'm really hoping for some help and explanation please. Every few months I plug in my moto phone, right click the device under "My PC" and import my pictures and videos. They go into a new folder each time named the date of import.After importing today, I decided to go through some of the photos plus some from previous imports. To my absolute dismay many of them have shrunk/been compressed so that when I open them they are tiny boxes. When I right click to check the file size, they are only around 8KB whereas the original are/were in MBs. If I resize therefore, they are blurry. I have attached

This is Wil, one of the independent advisor, an expert with Windows 10 and a fellow Windows 10 user like you. I understand your concern about compressing pictures.

A picture may be compressed by putting it to a compressed folder or by editing it to have a smaller size or changing the quality of it. May I know why do you need to compress pictures in Outlook or Word?

Quick Access not searching Pictures folder

Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

• I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.

• Then I tried to remove the Pictures folder with option one at Add or Remove Folders from This PC in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials. Even after rebooting, the Pictures folder remained.
• So I tried using option two. Same thing: reboot >> Pictures folder still there.

• Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.

That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.

• Where exactly did you imported the pictures?

If you have imported it to your system, you can just copy those pictures and paste them to the location wherever you want.

Follow the below steps:

• Select the pictures you want to move.
• Right click on selected pictures and click on copy.
• Open the location where you want to paste. Again right click and click on
  paste.
