Windows 10: Importing contacts into People in Windows 11

New laptop with Windows 11 installed and updated. Email works OK but I cannot import my old contacts ,csv file into the People section of Mail. Instructions on windows help shows for Windows 10, and People in 11 does not show importing files the same as the instructions.

People - New Contact

Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you’re trying to import contacts from your
Live Account and Microsoft account to People app.

If yes, I suggest you to follow the steps to import contacts from the above mentioned accounts.

1. Open People app. Tap on Options menu
   (…) > Go to Settings.
   
2. Tap on Add an Account.
   
3. Next choose the Email account from which you want to import your contacts.
   
4. Enter your Email account credentials and sign in. Your contacts will be imported to People app.

importing contacts into People

Hi Sharyn,

The People app is your address book and your social app all in one.
Please be informed that the the People app doesn’t have a built-in option to import contacts directly. In order to import contact to the app you'll need to use a .csv file. Kindly follow the steps given by Sayan on this thread:

People - How do you import contacts into People for Windows 10?

Ok, I am trying to do this one small simple step at a time. I am trying to do the following steps from the instructions above:

Add a contact from an email

• 
  On Start, tap or click Mail.
  
• 
  Tap or click a message and then tap or click the name of the person who sent it or any of the recipients.
  
• 
  Tap or click Add contact.
  
• 
  Add any additional info (if possible) and then tap or click the save button
  
  

I can tap a person name on an incoming Email. Unfortunately the little box that comes up Does Not have a Place to "Add Contact" to People

Any clue how to make this work?
