Windows 10: Importing pictures and video from iPhone to the Windows Photos app but there are no options...

Currently on a windows 10 home system, trying to clean up my iPhone memory by importing the biggest video files and pictures to the pc.After scanning my phone I can see around 10.000 pictures/videos are ready to be imported.Here's the catch, there are no options whatsoever to filter these files. No filter on file type, size, or filter by albums as they are in my iPhone.This means I can only manually go through and select what I want to import which is not doable with this many pictures/videos.Even just a filter to get videos seperated from photos is not possible.I find this very confusing as t

Error Importing iPhone Photos & Videos from iPhone 11

We understand the difficulties as you are unable to import pictures from your iPhone to the PC. In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below:

• What is the Windows 10 Version and Build installed? (Type winver in Windows search/Run command)
• What is the app/program are you using to import the photos?
• Did you try different USB cable to connect the iPhone?
• Does it happens on all the USB port on the PC?
• Were you able to import photos before using Photos app on the PC?

Meanwhile, we would suggest you to perform these steps if you are using Photos app to import the pictures and videos.



Step 1: Reinstall the driver.

1. Connect your iPhone to the PC
   
2. Press Windows + X key and selectDevice Manager
   from the context menu.
   
3. Spot and expand the “iPhone Device
   ”.
   
4. Right click on the driver and select “Uninstall”
   
5. Check the box beside “Delete the driver software for this device”
   
6. Click Ok.
   
7. Click on the Action tab of
   Device manager, select “Scan for Hardware changes” option.
   
8. This will cause the device driver to be reinstalled. Once the driver is installed, restart the PC and check.
   

Step 2: Reset Photos App

1. Press Windows + I key to open Windows Settings.
2. Click on Apps and select Apps & feature from the left pane.
3. Scroll and look for the Photos app.
4. Select the app and click on Advanced option.
5. Click on Reset and once you see a tick mark, then relaunch and check.

Step 3:
Uninstall app using Power shell command

1. Press Windows + X key and select Windows PowerShell (Admin).
2. Copy and paste this command, then press enter: Get-AppxPackage *Microsoft.Windows.Photos* | Remove-AppxPackage
3. Close the PowerShell command and restart the PC.
4. Reinstall the Photos app from
   Microsoft Store and check.

Step 4: New User account

If the issue persists, then we would suggest you to create a new administrator user account and check, refer this article to

create a local user or administrator account in Windows 10.

  to windows

Follow the steps provided below and check if it helps.

Connect your iPhone to your PC using the connection cable provided by Apple. Check your iPhone screen now. You might see a notification with Trust option. Tap Trust option to continue. The moment Windows recognizes your iPhone,
you will see a notification on the screen asking Tap to choose what happens with this device.

Click or tap the notification to see three options: Import photos and videos, Open device to view files, and Take no action. Click or tap
Import photos and videos option. This action will open all photos on your iPhone in Windows 10’s Photos app.

Select photos and videos that you wish to import and then click or tap
Import button to start copying all photos from your iPhone to PC. Once Photos app completes the transfer, you’ll see an option to open up the folder to view imported photos. You can also close Photos app if you would like to view photos later.
If issue persist, kindly try the below given steps and check if it helps:

• Connect the iPhone to Windows 10
  computer
• Close the prompted window.
• Press Windows + E key on the keyboard (it will show the phone as drive)
• Now you can copy and paste the pictures & videos into your Windows drive.

We understand the difficulties you are facing while importing the pictures from your IPhone to Windows PC using Windows 10 Photo app.



This issue could be due to some corrupted files on your IPhone which is hindering the transfer process of the pictures. In order to fix the issue, we would like to know.

• What is the Windows 10 version and Build installed? (Type
  winver in Windows search/Run command)
  
• What is the version of Photos App currently installed? (Go to
  Settings>Apps>Apps & feature>Photos app>Advanced option)

Meanwhile, we would suggest you to try the suggestion provided by

TripTradeNinja on 26th August, 2016 post, where we have seen that several people got the issue fixed. Moreover your issue seems to be similar as you are getting the issue even after copying the picture manually
and pasting it on the PC.
