Windows 10: Impossible to delete duplicate files in Windows Media Player automatic playlist with Python

Hello,Microsoft is causing me incredible frustration with their Windows Media Player program.Although it's simplistic and not advanced, I like to use it for its clean interface and ability to not miss files when they are moved.But it seems that its strength is also its weakness. WMP creates duplicate files that are the very same mp3 file showing twice in an automatic playlist.The duplicates don't show in the library, only in the automatic playlist, and are so pesky and hard to get rid of that they always come back no matter what you try to do.I tried to remove the duplicate tracks using Python

Thank you for posting in the forum.

I fully understand your situation and frustration and I really want to help.

Let me explain this how it looks like.

You have crated those playlists in Zune software which was supporting only Window Phones 7. Also, when you try to sync those playlists via Windows Phone app for Desktop or Windows Phone app, on phone you have playlists with 0 entries. Root of that
issue is different coding for Windows Phone 7 and Windows Phone 8.

Then you have converted those playlists to Windows Media Player and you got them duplicated.
Also, when you sync duplicated playlists to the phone, those playlists are duplicated on it as well.

In this situation you can do following things:

• Contact with windows Media Player support and try to solve an issue with duplicated playlists.
• You can as well recreate playlist from scratch Edit: within Windows Media player and then try to sync them via Windows Media Player or Windows Phone app.

THE SONGS ARE DUPLICATED!!! The playlists are only duplicated when I use the desktop app , not windows media player. I have fixed that problem by re-creating the playlists in windows media player.

Also I figured out that the songs were duplicated in windows media player because it some how got my duplicated path of songs on my back up drive. I don't even know how that happened. Since then i have removed that duplicate library from it but now I am
still getting some duplicated songs on my phone and they still show up in Windows media player duplicated.

The playlists will not transfer over to the phone using the 2nd hand generic Windows Phone Desktop App program.

You have to use Windows Media player to get the play lists to transfer. Windows Media player is the only way the play lists can be created now. I have done that , it does not solve the problem. For this reason , the windows phone desktop app is COMPLETELY
USELESS. Do you know someone in the Microsoft design and engineering department????? CAN YOU FREAKING TELL THEM THAT FOR ME AND THE MILLIONS OF USERS WHO ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YOU CANNOT CREATE PLAYLISTS WITH THE WINDOWS PHONE DESKTOP APP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the life of me I cannot understand why Microsoft stock doesn't plummet and go down to zero with products that have degraded due to bad marketing , bad design, and bad management as much as the windows phone has.

I don't even know why after 2 previous phones I have one. I guarantee there will not be a 4TH!
