    Impossible to troubleshoot PC , windows don't recognise my password


    Hi there After a complete normal shut down yesterday , my Computer Windows 10 doesn't want to start properly : It boot but I end up with the black screen and the cursor . If I go then in safe mode with or without network I end up with the error message " Error "System detected an overrun of a stack-based buffer in this application"And any if I try any other action like recovery of previous version of the Pc or reinstall windows 10 from the recovery menu , when I need to input my password , it doesn't recognise it while I know it as I'm logged here Any help ? I really don't know what to

    Reset win10 pc but password not recognised

    Performed the reset keeping files option, due to constant crashing. It appeared to go smoothly and now have the login screen requesting a password.

    Before the reset I was using a pin code which I think was associated with windows live login but neither this or the windows live password are recognised. The password for windows live is ok on other devices, such as the tablet I am using now, and I can
    see that the pc is a listed device.

    I changed the wl password but it's still not recognised on the reset pc.

    No other passwords that I am likely to have used are recognised either.

    There is only the one account on the pc.

    I don't know what to do now. Can anyone advise please?

    If that setting is already enabled, then I suggest as the next troubleshooting step might be Mozilla Safe Mode (not to be confused with Windows Safe Mode)):

    • Please report back and let us know the outcome, as it will dictate the next steps.
    • Also: please tell us what AV/AM/firewall programs are you running on this system?
