Windows 10: Improper shutdown, want to reinstall but am not sure if I can?

While web browsing, my PC randomly started acting up. The fan was on full blast and Task Manager showed the 'Windows Modules Installer Worker' was using 30% CPU and using high amounts of memory. It wouldn't stop after 15 minutes, so i decided to restart my computer. It wouldn't restart though because of '\Microsoft\Windows\WDI\ResolutionHost', so instead of force restarting I cancelled the restart. I was shown the 'Getting Windows Started -- Don't turn off your computer' message, but nothing happened. So i shut down like it told me not to.

Now I want to reinstall Windows 10 because I feel like I might have corrupted something, but because I upgraded I don't know if I can. I have an HP Recovery partition with Windows 7 on it, but I don't want to return to Windows 7. At the moment I am pissed, because I don't know what happened. I would like to avoid this problem in the future, but I don't know the cause *Sad

Can someone tell me where I can buy a back plate cover for my Nokia 6350. I called Nokia, they told me Wal Mart and Radio Shack, neither of which knew what I was talking about.



Lost the back cover plate while in the hospital...Need to replace. Thanks

They do fall off or break so easily that no-one seems to list them anymore unfortunately.

 

Sounds like was doing Windows update, usually this Windows modules installer worker does if running CPU up a bit, 30% not extreme unless 50% or more. Run an SFC and DISM commands first to see. Rather then refresh, to fix it, rather then try anything else like you said. Or in place repair upgrade, but do not know yet if anything is corrupt. 1 improper shutdown not going to do that, that fast.

I did check Windows Update but it was not running.. I only saw the last check for updates, did not show a progress bar or anything. It doesn't feel safe to leave the PC fan running at full speeds for too long.. especially for an update, if that actually was the case.

Is the installation media option the only way to reinstall Windows 10 from here on out? It looks a bit more advanced than it should be for the everyday person. I would rather have it create a recovery partition like the one that came with my PC.
