    I recently upgraded my dad's PC from Win7 to Win10. Entire new system, etc... He is old and needs very large fonts as well as a low enough resolution to see. Windows 7 handled this perfectly while connected via HDMI to an older (15yr old) Panasonic 55" TV with a native resolution of 1280x720P.

    I have spent hours being yelled at by him because it isn't just right for him to see and I understand why. All the scaling and options in Windows 10 just makes everything worse. Fix a font in windows and then Outlook is unreadable. Adjust brightness and font is awful. He loves to see the clock on the bottom right so most resolutions cut it completely off. I know I'm partially just venting because he is stubborn and cannot accept changes; but at this point I might have to downgrade him back to windows 7 with an old version of outlook because Windows 10 is not cutting it. Is there a way to get Windows 10 to use DPI settings like in Win7 or be able to get granular with the font, brightness, resolution as like in Win7?

    Note that the video cards are exactly the same as before when he was using Win7.

    Samsung LC32F397FWNXZA 32"
    resolution 1920 x 1080

    graphics card:

    GeForce GTX 1050 (2GB)

    Maximum Digital Resolution 7680x4320@60Hz2

    Would this suggest that it is the monitor that is the limiting factor?

    I'd like to just make the apps smaller but unable to scale below 100% or adjust the DPI below the default.

    Disable High DPI Automatic Scaling

    Hello,

    What we can suggest to resolve the issue with your DPI settings is by following the steps on this
    article. Please note that these are only workarounds. DPI Scaling issues can be very tricky as these
    can involve multiple PC configuration. You would need to report this on our
    Feedback Hub     for our Engineers to be notified of the issue as stated on the article.

    Update us if there are improvements.

    DPI scaling fixed and cannot be altered

    Hi Yuan,

    That may be because your screen resolution is not set correctly . . .

    Your resolution should be set to the item in the list marked (recommended) if you set your resolution to that item, is DPI Scaling then enabled?
