    Hello! I'm reposting it as a general question as I though my issue concerned only my app.


    An app that I am using - Cover - just started acting as if I did not purchase the full version.

    When I try to unlock it again through the app, it confirms me that I already bought it, I first thought it was the app that was bugging.

    But seemed weird to me, like that, all of a sudden.


    Then I read online that sometime around 2015 there was an Windows update that messed up in-app purchases IAP, it seemed to be some sort of link between the store and the app that is not going through correctly. If I'm not mistaken I did the cumulative update, so most probably something similar happened.

    I tried resetting, restarting, reinstalling, clearing store cache, etc. I also tried on another device, no luck.


    Please let me know what to do as I paid for that feature, and I didn't find anything that helped until now.

    Are you trying to purchase the app from Windows Store?



    Try the below methods and check:

    Method 1: I would suggest you to run the inbuilt app troubleshooter.

    Follow the steps:


    • Press “Windows” + “X” and select Control Panel.

    • Select Troubleshooting and select View all on left hand side of the screen.

    • Select the App and follow the instruction to troubleshoot.


    Method 2: I suggest you to follow the steps below to reset the Windows store:


    • Press the “Win Logo” + “R”

    • Type: WSReset.exe and press “Enter”.

    • Restart the computer and check.

    In-App Purchase no longer recognized

    My recent In-App Purchases seem to no longer be recognized. I have spent money on purchasing the Pro versions of apps, only to be resorted back to free version, or ad versions with no compensation. When I click to pay In-App for the pro version, nothing
    happens. The purchases appear in my account transaction history, but the apps don't seem to recognize it. I cannot blame the developers of those particular apps because it is happening over several apps. Can someone help me figure this out?

    I have already tried restarting my Surface 3, and uninstalling and reinstalling the apps with no improvement.

    Unable to purchase app in store

    Hello Nraina thank you for posting.

    Here are some suggestions you can try in order to solve this issue.

    • I would suggest you log with your Microsoft Account on
      https://account.live.com make sure your birth date, time&date and the time zone are correct.

    • If you are having this issue on your Windows Phone, please check the time and date on the phone as well (<<settings <<time&date) and set them on manual.

    • Please also log with the same Microsoft account to
      http://www.xbox.com
      and make sure you have created you Gamertag.

    • As a last step, please just do a soft reset of the phone (if the issues are on you r Windows Phone)
    Press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons for 20 seconds, until the phone vibrates. Once it vibrates, release the buttons and the phone should restart.
