In File Explorer My "photo" icons have all been replaced with the same image which is two mountains plus a Moon. I want "MY" photos to display

Most image thumbnails replaced by icons in file explorer

Most of my image thumbnails have recently been replaced by icons.

I'm not aware of any action that precipitated this change.



This only affects some files, but it affects multiple folders, sizes/ages of file and file types. There seems to be no pattern to which files are affected.



I have tried:

• Checking the display thumbnails box in file explorer view settings
• Clearing thumbnail cache by using the disc cleanup function
• Clearing the thumbnail cache using cmd prompt
  
  taskkill /f /im explorer.exe
  del /f /s /q /a %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer\thumbcache_*.db
  

Any help would be much appreciated!

Image icons are replaced

or maybe identify the 3rd party app that may have caused it, if it was an issue with photo viewer ,we would have the issue to I think.

did you try changing the default apt that open these files .right click the file and choose open with ,and pick another in the list
