Windows 10: In File Explorer, why are there no thumbnails of SD cards images?

Discus and support In File Explorer, why are there no thumbnails of SD cards images? in Windows 10 Network and Sharing to solve the problem; In Folder Options > View I have unchecked Always show icons, never thumbnails.     In File Explorer, why are there no thumbnails of SD cards images?


    In Folder Options > View I have unchecked Always show icons, never thumbnails. In the other folders in the File Explorer icons are shown.

    SD Card and RAW fies, no thumbnail of the image

    Having a problem viewing RAW camera files directly on an SD Card in File explorer. All I get is blue icons saying it's a picture file, no thumbnail of the image. I have to import them to see them!!! But I want to sort/delete the images before importing.
    Now just been down Curry's and tried my card in their display desktops and laptops, and it works fine. Open file explorer, select SD card and there are all my images in thumbnails!!!! What's missing from my laptop? I'm up to date with updates, I've checked
    the drivers for card reader and downloaded all the Codec files I can find. Still no joy. Is it because I did the free upgrade to Windows 10 and something was left out. Please help! As a photographer this is driving me up the wall and thinking of swapping to

    SD Card, RAW files and thumbnails?

    Hi All. My problem is this.....

    I do a lot of photography and like to sort photo's before I transfer the files to laptop or external hard drive.

    In Windows 7 I could pop SD card in, open the card reader in File explorer and see thumbnails of all my images.

    Can't seem to be able to do this in Windows 10. All I get is lots of blue icons saying it is a picture.

    Now I've just been to Curry's and popped my sd card into laptop's and desktops in there, opened the SD card in File explorer and could see every picture as a thumbnail???!!!! What is missing from my laptop that is stopping me from viewing my images aa thumbnails???

    My laptop is just under a year old. HP touchscreen. And it came with Windows 8, which I updated to Windows 10 with the free upgrade.

    Please help as it's making my photography very hard to enjoy and I'm hating Windows 10 at the moment.

    Update .... Have tried Defrag, disk clean up and Run Maintenance task and no joy. Then closed File explorer, reopened it and thumbnails were working!!!! Fantastic. Shut the comp down for the night, fired it up next day and everything back to not showing
    thumbnails for RAW files. Tried again a second ago.....opened up a folder of RAW files....first 7 I could see thumbnails.....rest were the blue icon of two mountains. I had no problems with Windows 7 and beginning to loose faith in Microsoft
