I am Dyslexic and as a result i struggle with black text on a white background. The words move around like watching a rolling sea. On old windows I was able to go into the settings and select the colour for the window specifically not the title bar, not the start menu but specifically the window colour since windows 10 I have not been able to do this. Yes i can use high contrast mode but this doesn't give the same flexibility and actually makes somethings impossible to use as well as seems to affect system performance with increased crashes load times to the extent I just gave up. HOW DO I CHANGE BACKGROUND COLOURS IN WIN 10 HOME VERSION? QUITE SPONTANEOUSLY THE BACKGROUND COLOURS IN MY PC WERE CHANGED FOR SOME STRANGE REASON AND NOW I WANT TO CHANGE BACK TO THE ORIGINAL COLOUR SETTINGS. WHERE DO I FIND THE DEFAULT BACKGROUND COLOURS?
ACTUALLY I WOULD PREFER TO HAVE A WHITE BACKGROUND BUT WHITE DOES NOT SEEM TO EXIST IN SETTINGS/BACKGROUND COLOUR. MOREOVER ACCENT COLOUR SETTING SEEMS TO BE LOCKED. BY THE WAY, WHAT IS ACCENT COLOURS ACTUALLY? AREN T THERE DIFFERENT LAYERS OF COLOUR : BACKGROUND
AT THE BOTTOM AND THEN 2-3 DIFFERENT LAYERS ONTOP OF IT?

How do I change the background colour of a Window in Windows 10?

How do I change the background colour of a window I am writing in? When using a word processor, for example, I find writing on a white background stressful, I would like the background colour of the window to be, say, faun. I used to be able to do this
in earlier versions of Windows.

Background colour of applications, under Windows 10 I haven't been able to find this function

In previous versions of windows I was able to select the colour (grey - easier on the eyes) for the background of applications such as excel, word and explorer. This isn't the background picture I am talking about on the desktop, nor changing the theme or
colours in each program. This was everything; from pop up messages from Windows to the applications aforementioned, all done through one function. This option allowed you to change menu bar colours, text box colours and everything in between.

Under Windows 10 I haven't been able to find this function. In another post I saw someone had outlined that this feature was missing; is this really the case and if so is there a work around?
