    In task manager only one core and 1 logical processor shows up and I cannot change it in...


    Under the processor's tab in Device Manager 8 cores show up showing what I have, then when I open up task manager only one core and 1 logical processor shows up and I cannot change it in the MSConfig. I had it at 8 before now I can’t go higher than 1.

    Task Manager is only showing only half of my cores and logical processors.

    Hi

    I just upgraded my CPU from an Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 to an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9505.

    It has 4 cores and 4 threads, but task manager only shows half of those.

    It says 2 cores instead of 4 and 2 logical processors instead of 4.

    I need help on how to fix this.

    Hi Lee, that processor is a Dual Core Processor with 4 threads . . .

    In Task Manager, right click the graph for your Processor and choose 'Change graph to logical Processors . .

    How many processor cores do you then see?

    ONLY showing using 1 core out of 4 core processor

    Open up task manager, select performance tab, select cpu.......then look at the bottom right of window. There you will find the info on your cpu......sockets, cores, logical processors and your cache. This is mine....a single processor with 4 cores that has hyper-threading which gives me 8 logical processors.
