Windows 10: In the News and Interests app, at the very top not a widget, there appears to be a stock...

I do not have any money or stock market widgets or topics being covered. I am using Chrome. Clicking on the feed opens a stock market page that shows nothing is being followed. The part I am referring to says, " S&P 500 -0.11%".

Does News and Interests widget require MS News and Weather apps?

I have a laptop that doesn't have the Microsoft News or Weather app preinstalled. After installing some Windows updates, I saw that I had the "News and interests" option in the task bar. I have it turned on but the widget hasn't shown up. Turning it off then on again didn't help. Does that widget require the MS News and Weather apps in order to function? On another PC, I have no issues with that widget appearing but that one has had the News and Weather apps installed before the widget was released.

If this is not working correctly then If you want To report this bug to Microsoft use the Feedback Hub app in Start Menu where developers are tasked to process consumer feedback. They will not even see it here. This is a tech forums staffed mostly by volunteers trying to help with your problems.

I have better luck with the Edge Start page News feed.https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/75156-custo... You just choose the format you want, what sources you want, then for each story you get you have an elipsis (three dots) to click to tell the app you want more, less or none of those. Within about a week I had my feed fully customized to my liking, not just or news but for weather, stocks, and sports.
