    In Windows 11 after pasting a file in file explorer, how do you get the pasting icon to disappear? So, you do not accidently paste somewhere else.

    Windows Explorer Copy and Paste problems

    Hi,

    The copy/paste problem could be due to Windows Explorer issue or faulty keyboard.

    Wewould like to know some information to better isolate the problem:

    • Is the issue also happening when trying to copy/paste any Office files, or is it only happening in Windows Explorer?
    • Have you tried other ways like; right-click + Copy, then right-click + Paste?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

    Windows explorer crashes while trying to paste a file

    I'm not able to transfer files by copying in my windows file explorer (cant copy-paste or drag and drop). Using the top icon to paste works strngely (this one

    ). Ive tried several things like trying clean boot, cleared cache from file explorer , used restorehealth and scanhealth and also /sfc scannow, restarted file explorer. when I go into clean boot the crash still happens.

    I really like windows 11 and that's the only problem I currently have.

    Paste not working in file explorer

    Suddenly this afternoon the paste option is gone from file explorer. Every folder on the entire computer + the standalone drives has paste grayed out.

    I CAN paste into all the office apps. I CAN "save as" docs from word or excel into an explorer folder. I believe I CAN "drag and drop" items from elsewhere into explorer. I CAN even copy and paste from explorer into a different explorer folder. I just CANNOT
    paste into explorer from outside explorer. I've tried many of the online suggestions: clear the clipboard (from Word or Excel - the clipboard update button is also grayed out in explorer); restart rdpclip; reboot; and probably some others. I have pasted lots
    of stuff from other apps into explorer earlier today without any problems. There were no updates to anything done this afternoon.
