Windows 10: Inability to access music files on my ipod touch from my Windows 10 pc.

I have admittedly old ipod touch, where over time the functionality & availability of apps have reduced it to not much more than storage / player for music. I have tried to access the music stored on the device via a usb cable on my HP laptop operating on a Windows 10 operating system. The laptop sees the device in Explorer and has no problem accessing the few stored pictures on there. But I cannot see anything to do with music. I have run all the recommended diagnostic and remedial steps to no avail. The Device Manager recognizes the devise and says the optimal driver is installed. In short, it looks like it should work. However, still cannot see much less access Music. The only thing I can think of is that I have, for good historic reasons bad experiences on other PCs, not installed iTunes on this laptop. iTunes was a always a bit of a malignancy that interfered with music files / formats etc of my main music library.


I would appreciate any guidance people can give me on whether the other remedial steps I can take or have to bite the bullet and download iTunes or confine my beloved ipod touch to the tech grave yard. Many thanks

Can I transfer music from Windows 10 to iPod Touch without iTunes?

I would like if I could get some new music on to my iPod Touch and I'm wondering if I can do it in Windows 10 without installing iTunes. I don't want to install iTunes as I'm happy with Foobar2k and all the software I have at present. I'd rather not install iTunes for just transferring music.

My iPod connects fine to my laptop. When I try to view the hidden files on the iPod Touch nothing appears.

Is there a way to do this?

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Unable to access my iPod Touch in windows 10.

Thank you Parth for your suggestions but it hasn't worked. I checked the Device Manager and my iPod Touch isn't there. However, it is in my Acer:C Program Files, but will not open. I have uninstalled Itunes and re-installed many times but this problem
continues to persist. My old iPod Shuffle is recognised but not my iPod Touch.
