  1. Inability to sign into services and recurring sign in loops after changing emails

When I set up my PC I used my current email address to set up my account. I realized later that I had an old Microsoft account associated with an older email address. I wanted to use that old account since it has my Xbox gamertag etc and my new account has nothing. So I deleted my new account associated with my current email address, waited the 30 days for it to fully delete, then logged into my Microsoft account with my old email address and updated it to my current email. Now I'm unable to log in to services such as the Microsoft Store or Xbox without errors. I uninstalled Xbox and then trie

Inability to sign on to my laptop

    Hi,

It's possible for you to change the sign-in method of your computer once you're logged in. Since you can't remember your password, if you're using your Microsoft account, we suggest that you follow the steps
provided in this article: When you can't sign in to your Microsoft account.
If you're using a local account, follow the steps here instead: Reset
your Windows 10 local account password
    .

Once you're able to sign in, you can change the sign-in options by following these steps:

    • Click Start.

    • Type Sign-in options.

    • Press Enter.

    • Under PIN, click Add.

    • Enter your password or any other required information when prompted and click
      OK.

    • Enter at PIN number with at least 4 digits and click OK.

Let us know if you need help with any other concerns.

    Sign-in Preferences

I have not gotten my head around Microsoft's Account settings and think I might have messed things up. I created a couple of outlook.com email aliases and then opened the "Change Sign-in Preferences" section where it suggests to only allow email addresses that are monitored. So I did that and checked off the addresses that I don't monitor. I realized later that I would like to reverse that action but find that the aliases are no longer listed and I cannot remake them because Microsoft says that they are taken. Is there anyway to reactivate the aliases that I checked off in the "Change Sign-in Preferences" section?

Cannot sign in to Microsoft Account (Cortana) using Win10

I've just upgraded to Win10, and I am trying to sign into my Microsoft Account in order to use Cortana, however I am caught in a loop and it won't accept my credentials.

The credentials are definitely right, verified by accessing the Microsoft account via https://account.microsoft.com. Also, if I type my credentials incorrectly when trying to sign in on my PC I am told the credentials are wrong - therefore I can be certain that the authentication process is taking place.

    Steps are as follows:

    • Start
    • Type "Your Account"
    • Enter
    • Scroll down on the Setting window
    • "Add a Microsoft account"
    • Enter email and password (for Microsoft account)

Nothing happens. I am returned to the previous screen and not logged in.

The same is true when I place my cursor in the bottom left hand corner search bar. I am asked to sign in to be able to use Cortana, the dialogues about getting you to sign in just go round in a loop after I've entered my credentials.
