inability to uninstall security update KB4093112

I have attempted to uninstall KB4093112 as it's preventing me from RDPing into one of my servers. I know I need to update the server but it's a production server and requires planning. Until then I need to remove this update so I can access the server. Each time I try to remove it using windows uninstall it locks up the machine for hours and then doesn't complete. I've tried IObit uninstaller and it seems to uninstall it but it doesn't.

How can I completely remove it??

    :)

  2. Security Update KB4093112

Security Update for Microsoft Windows KB4093112 was installed on my computer on 4/11/18. After installation, I was unable to open any of my Office applications. I uninstalled the update, and Office is now working. My system is informing me that there
is an update pending. I assume it is the one that I uninstalled, and if I allow the installation, it will happen again. It is unfortunate that Microsoft has decided that we cannot choose our updates. I did tell the system not to install this update, but
I believe that is only a temporary fix. Also, Simplepass is not functioning. What the deal? Thanks.

  3. Security Update KB4093112 failing with error 0x80092004

    Hi

I started with 3 updates failing to install.

Cumulative update Feb 2018 KB4074588. Looking at the article it said it was for a different OSbuild to my 16299.192. My build should use KB4056892.

Following this through I found, "Microsoft recommends that users uninstall the Windows 10 version 1709 January KB4056892 Delta Update package and install the March 2018 full latest cumulative update,

    KB4088776
    ."

When I went to the Update catalog I found that this had been superseded by KB4089848 and KB4093112.

I went to the first one and found that that had been superseded by the second.

I uninstalled the January update and rebooted.

I manually downloaded and installed KB4093112 which failed with error 0x80092004

My update history shows that the following updates have failed to install:

I've tried the Updates troubleshooter and that failed to solve the problem.

PS About My PC shows that it is

    Windows 10 Pro

    version 1709

    OS Build 16299.15

    When I look up KB4093112

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/4093112/windows-10-update-kb4093112

It says that this KB is for OS Build 16299.371

Different KB items are listed for different builds, but 16299.15 is not amongst them.

  4. inability to uninstall security update KB4093112

    Update KB4093112 Fails to Install

I tried the steps you outlined below. However, after I downloaded step 3 and clicked on the "msu" file, it looked like it was going to install, but then said: "... Security Update for Windows (KB4093112) is already installed on this computer. ...".

Should I delete the "SoftwareDistribution" folder & delete the "CBS.log" instead of renaming them?
