Can you provide more info don't know how to back up thru notepad instructions you mentioned. Also can some one confirm if I run mbr command it will not damage the hd where I cannot backup? Also how can I backup if I cannot login to Windows. I am really great ful for everyone's help. I am currently running chkdsk seems it will be the morning when I will have that done.

Hi two questions, thanks for sending the gif. However if I cannot get into safe mode, then doing what the gif say is not clear how I could do. The only thing that is accessible is command prompt. So is there another way you are suggesting. Earlier someone mentioned to to mbr and fixing it, I wanted to ask will that make my files in accessible since my files are not backed up. Can someone clarify. Thank you.

How do you create a restore point? Cannot access anything, can only access command prompt.

Please replace partition letter D: with Windows installed partition letter. When computer boots into Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) environment the drive letter assign to Windows partition may not be C: drive letter because Windows 7, 8 , 8.1 and 10 creates a separate system partition when it's installed from scratch. The system partition contains boot files WinRE assigns the system partition the C: drive letter and the Windows installed partition will be assign any other drive letter usually D: drive letter is assign to Windows installed partition. The Bcdedit /enum | find "osdevice" command can be use to find out the drive letter of the Windows installed partition the output of the Bcdedit command is similar to this osdevice partition=D:. The drive letter after partition= is the drive letter of the Windows partition.

From Windows Recovery Environment start the Command Prompt.

Please type below command into Command Prompt and press Enter key.

The following command scans integrity of all protected Windows system files and repairs files with problems when possible.

    Code: Sfc /Scannow /OFFBOOTDIR=D:\ /OFFWINDIR=D:\Windows
When did i say you need to boot computer into Safe Mode if you can you don't need to follow my Notepad trick you can use File Explorer or backup program from Safe Mode.

I think you don't understand when i say boot your computer into Windows Recovery Environment start the Command Prompt. Please read my post 15 i have explain how to start Command Prompt from Windows Recovery Environment.

You will launch the Notepad from Windows Recovery Environment.

First backup your files then execute below commands:

Please type below commands into Command Prompt and press Enter key.

Following commands will repair Master Boot Record (MBR), Boot Sector and BCD Store.

    Code: Bootrec /FixMbr Bootrec /FixBoot Bootrec /RebuildBcd
If you can post a screenshot of the outputs of three commands.

The two images appeared to be nearly identical:
    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SVN...w?usp=drivesdk.
    https://drive.google.com/file/d/15Vc...w?usp=drivesdk
It reported : chkdsk made corrections in the volume bitmap and Windows made corrections to the file system.
    So this is progress.
Post #16 and #32 indicated if the commands are successful to restoring the operating system you must treat it as a fragile repair and backup files, make a backup image, and make a new restore point.

When available please post the results of the HP UEFI hardware diagnostics.
