Windows 10: Inaccessible Boot Device on External TB3 drive

Running Windows 10 on a Macbook Pro Bootcamp partition. Trying to install WIndows 10 on an external Thunderbolt 3 drive. Managed to get it installed using WintoUSB, but when I try to boot from it, I get an "Inaccessible Boot Device" blue screen and am forced to restart.


Reading around says that this may be due to attempting to boot to that drive before the Thunderbolt or USB drivers load resulting in the computer not seeing the drive. Is there a way to adjust the driver load order/priority from within another Windows 10 partition with the external drive connected ie- without using a BIOS/UEFI as I don't have access to that on a MBP? I have played around on the drive and found the INF folder and the driver folders in the System32 folder, but I don't know which of the seemingly hundred files is the thunderbolt driver or the applicable USB driver or even what do do once I find it.

It is an intermediate level link.
There are more advanced steps that can be ran once the partition structure is known.
There are steps for repair of the boot sector, operating system, etc.
Sometimes this bugcheck can be caused by windows updates.

A reset save files equivalent may be able to be performed.
Alternatively a clean install can be performed once important files are backed up.

 

INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE

I have Windows 10 on two networked desktop HP computers. One day I noticed one computer could no longer access its external hard drives. And then it failed to boot, showing the blue screen with error code: Inaccessible Boot Device. I disconnected the external
drives and tried a System Restore and was finally able to boot it up again. Within 2 days, the same computer and the other computer both showed the same symptoms. I went through the loops of re-starts, trouble-shoots, diagnostics, repairs, etc. I failed each
time. System Restore also failed while scanning the file system on drive C, with an unspecified error (0x81000204). Any suggestions for this non-IT computer user, other than taking both to the local Geek Squads?
