  1. Inaccessible boot device restart loop without access to advanced options

Hello, I recently updated some drivers and one of them, I beleive a graphics update, asked for me to restart my laptop to finish setting up. I opted to manually restart later as there were a few more drivers that needed to be updated, so I finished updating them and then restarted my laptop.

It then showed me a blue screen saying that there was an error, and my laptop would be automatically restarting, as well as INACCESIBLE BOOT DEVICE. It then attempted to restart, but failed and showed me a blue screen with Advanced Options, but after trying many of the different repair options I kept getting the same result and my laptop still can’t restart. I even tried to restart in Safe Mode, but that wouldn’t work and I couldn’t get any access to my laptop at all. I even tried resetting my laptop while keeping my files, but there was no progress or any changes.

I resorted to completely resetting my laptop, deleting all my files, but now my laptop doesn’t even show the Advanced Options screen anymore, and just keeps cycling through the acer logo with the white loading dots and the first blue screen saying there was a problem with the restart and the INACCESIBLE BOOT DEVICE.

I have no idea how to fix this, and I really need my laptop to be working, so I’d really appreciate any help, thanks!

    :)

I'm not sure if this is helpful, but maybe you can have a try. Windows operating system backups a working registry for recovery purpose. You can perform registry backup restoring to fix the inaccessible boot device error. The pre-condition is that you can access to the Advanced startup opotions of your PC. You'll need to use the command prompt.
Also, steps are a little bit complicated. However, if you follow the guide strictly, no mistake should be made. You can Google how to restore from Registry Backup, or refer to this article for help. Inaccessible Boot Device Lenovo.

This is a Microsoft link on inaccessible boot device:
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/win...le-boot-device

It is an intermediate level link.
There are more advanced steps that can be ran once the partition structure is known.
There are steps for repair of the boot sector, operating system, etc.
Sometimes this bugcheck can be caused by windows updates.

A reset save files equivalent may be able to be performed.
Alternatively a clean install can be performed once important files are backed up.

    Hi,

A blue screen error (also called a stop error) can occur if a problem causes your PC to shut down or restart unexpectedly. When you experience this type of error, you won’t be able to see things like the Start menu or the taskbar on the screen when your
PC is turned on. Instead you might see a blue screen with a message that your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart.

    Method 1:

    • Insert the installation USB and boot Windows 10 from it.
    • In the ‘Windows setup’ page select the ‘language to install’, ‘Time and currency format’ and the ‘keyboard or input method’ and click on
      ‘next’.
    • Click on ‘Repair your computer’ and select ‘Troubleshoot’.
    • Click on ‘Advanced options’ and select ‘Automatic Repair’
      and select the operating system.

    Method 2:

    • If the issue persists, you may perform a check disk and check if that helps.
    • Click on ‘Advanced options’ and click on command prompt.
    • Run the following command from the command prompt and press enter.
    • chkdsk/f /r XInaccessible boot device restart loop without access to advanced options :( drive letter)
    • Press Y when you are prompted to check the disk the next time that the system restarts.
    • Restart the computer.
Important: When you run the check disk, there are chances of losing data so you can take a backup before running check disk.

Please revert if you face any issues with the
    Inaccessible Boot Device loop error.

    Thank you.
