Windows 10: INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE Windows 10

First off, i accidently analyzed/optimized my SSD and i am fairly certain this was my mistake.

i cannot start my computer: INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

i cannot start in safe mode, i get the same problem.
CHKDSK /F won't run

i am trying to avoid formatting, at least not my D drive. My C drive (the SSD), i can format if worse comes to worse.

Any ideas?i c

windows 10 overclocking problem

It is a windows 10 problem, I finished installing windows 7 and it works great, no more inaccessible_boot_device.

 

Windows Issue

After INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE error, after I re-installed Windows 10 from HDD I haven't this option.

 

Restart the computer and press F2 to Enter Setup (Bios) on the Left Panel go to System Information. At the bottom of the Right panel, under Device Information, it should list all of your drives. Is the SSD listed? If so, go to Boot Sequence and move the SSD to First Boot Device, Save and Exit.

 

Okay. Bare with me here because the alienware BIOS looks all fancy compared to regular Bios.

My SSD (SK Hynix) is listed (SATA Port 4) however, i cannot find any way to move it around in boot sequence. All i can really do in BIOS is prioritize "Hard Disk: Windows Boot Manager). Now i have been trying, for quite some time, to be able to boot from other media (i currently have a repair disk in the disk drive that i cannot get to boot) and i have been disabling secure boot and enabling legacy and different combinations.

But perhaps you can assist me further there. Right now i am trying Secure Boot Control Disabled. Load Legacy OPROM Enabled and Boot Mode Legacy. However, all this does is bring up the following message "Reboot and Select proper Boot Device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot Device and press any key"

When i use F12 to open Boot Options (Legacy, secure boot off) and choose SK hynix (my SSD) i get the same message.

EDIT: I went back into Bios, and i was able to switch the priority of the SSD to number 1, but i till get the above message.

 

If you have a Windows 10 ISO image,. Create a bootable UEFI USB Flash drive using Rufus, in my signature. How to Create UEFI Bootable Windows USB Drive Reset Bios to UEFI, and Enable Secure boot, and restart computer with new UEFI Flash drive. Choose your language, and then Repair Your Computer.

 

where can i find the ISO?

But i am curious. i cant get anything else to boot up, how promising is it that i can get a USB stick to boot up?

 

You are trying to boot from non UEFI bootable devices. If you follow the instructions in the link provided, and create a UEFI bootable Flash Drive, it should work.

And some further information, but probably not useful. bootrec scanos could not find any windows installation. but this makes sense i guess since command prompt opens up with x:\windows\system32. i found a similar situation online, the X drive thing, but his diskpart instructions had some different results than the ones i got. Anyway, i am downloading that ISO now and i will try that next.

 

It could not fix repairs, but left a log file somewhere in my D drive. It created a Windows\System32\Logfiles\Srt folder and put in a logfile called SrtTrail.txt

Would disconnecting my internal D drive help? Maybe force it to use the C drive with windows installed on it?

 

ok so i noticed something new while playing around.

first i tried disconnecting my D drive, but that did nothing so i plugged it back in.

then i attempted to just install windows again, but it told me i need to remove the media device and restart to do it. i did but it did nothing. This time around i just took out the media device and let it continue doing stuff. Then it said it couldnt do anything because there was no media device so i put it back in and now it cant find the drivers blah blah blah but

i hit browse and i noticed that all my folders and files were still there, but the drive letters have been swapped. My OS drive is now D instead of C. This might be due to when i unhooked the drive though now that i think of it. But that mystery X drive is also there.

Also, i try to browse to the USB for drivers and my Alienware resource DVD, but it comes up empty.

EDIT: Can't do system restore because it can't find restore points. It also won't reset.

BCDEDIT /ENUM shows two boot managers. The second one looks correct. The first one must be drive x: or something

 

UPDATE: Now i am getting an error code 0x0000001 as well. hopefully this is going in the right direction

 

i am unable to even reinstall windows, so any input would be awesome. anything at all.

Does this look correct?

After some fiddling around using my Linux Mint LiveUSB, i may or may not have made headway; but a lot has changed.

bootrec now finds an OS and asks to add it to boot list, but the volume doesn't contain a recognized file system
DISKPART now shows disk 0 and disk 1 as IDENTICAL. FURTHERMORE; i a. no longer have an EFI boot partition and b., each volume now has its own drive letter:
