Windows 10: Inconsistency for C Windows drive size

Hello, I noticed last evening that my C Windows drive only had about 100 GB free. After moving/removing some large files images, download archives etc. I now have 270 GB of free space, amounting to about 660 GB of used storage. When I inspect the size of all files and folders on the drive including hidden files, I get around 400 GB used space. Where is the 260 GB difference? Is it used by Windows? I also installed CCleaner and looked at temp files and disk analyzer, but nothing strange was found. I'm attaching a screenshot showing the size difference imgur link as for some reason it giv

Extend C drive Size

Your Image does not show a D partition. It does show an F partition which if reduced in size would enable you to increase the size of the C partition.



These are the steps needed to enable you to increase the size of your C partition:

• 
  Reduce F by 20 gb placing the unallocated space before F.
  
• 
  Increase the Recovery partition by 20 gb taking up unallocated space created by Step 1.
  
• 
  Reduce the Recovery partition by 20 gb placing the unallocated space before the Recovery partition.
  
• 
  Increase the C partition by 20 gb to take in the unallocated space before the Recovery partition.
  

You can use Easeus Partition Manager (freeware) to carry out these tasks. The files in each partition are automatically moved when you carry out each step detailed above.

Extend drive size

I want to extend my c drive size. I go to diskmgmt.msc and follow the steps. When I right click on drive c the extend capability is grayed out.

I am running as admin, it is listed as NTFS, I have unallocated space on my d drive.

Is the problem that I do not have space "after" my c drive. I am not sure what this means.

How do I get space after my c drive ?

 

What's eating up my \C: drive?

That reduced System Volume Information to 662 KB, left $GetCurrent at 3.8 GB which is called media when clicking the little arrow. Storage sense or Disk cleanup gave no reference to $GetCurrent, and the [2 files] are pagefile.sys and swapfile.sys.

I will thank everyone and mark this thread as solved, I now have over 27 GB of free space on my C: drive, it must just slowly get down to size where Windows warned me with a red "flag" when viewing This PC.
