Windows 10: Inconsistent internet speed

The first picture shows that my download speed is a lot slower than my download speed in the second picture. I didnt capture the time but they were both taken between 6:22pm-6:23pm. My internet recently has been very inconsistent and I think its because of my laptop not my internet provider but I can check if thats the problem. My laptop doesnt have a ethernet port, but i have a usb-c to ethernet, adapter and a usb-c port. The adapter can go up to 1gbps and the cable can go up to 40gbps. This problem has only been happening recently and I want to know how to fix it. edit: I just realized that

Slow Internet speed on only one computer.

Hi Cody,

Slow internet speed on one of your computer could be due to the following:

• Outdated network adapter driver
• Different Wi-Fi chipset
• Computer processing speed

Make sure that the network driver of your computer(s) are always updated.

We also suggest you to contact your internet service provider for them to check your internet connection speed and give you more information.
