    Inconsistent size of fonts in Windows 11


    Dear allthe problemSince this start up, I am experiencing inconsistent size of fonts on my Windows 11.Font size in windows bar, search menu, parameters is fine. Font size in Explorer, firefox, chrome, ... are very small. They appears as if scaling factor was not applied to them. See an example of inconsistent font sizesTrialsI've tried to change several time the scaling factor, played with the font size option. But problem remains.Root cause ?I can't identify a root cause to it.Yesterday I had an update of Windows and I installed and uninstalled a dev version of GIMP

    Internet Explorer 11 Menu font size

    Hi Larry,

    Follow these steps to change the font size in IE11:

    • Click Start menu or press Windows key on your keyboard.
    • Type and click Control Panel.
    • Click Appearance and Personalization and under Display, click
      Make text other items larger or smaller.
    • Under Change only the text size, choose the Title bars
      in the drop-down menu and the desired font size on the drop-down menu beside it.

    Windows 11 Font and Icon Sizes Inconsistent

    Hi Jeri,

    I am Dave, I will help you with this.

    A few years ago, for sone unknown reason, Microsoft removed many of the font sizing settings in Windows 10.

    There is only on font size setting in Windows 11, in Settings - Accessibility = Text Size.

    That setting really only affects the font size in the newer UWP apps, but has no affect on older Win32 apps

    Many people are using a 3rd party utility named Winaero Tweaker to have access to the old font settings that used to exist in previous versions of Windows.

    Hi David,

    Thank you for posting your query on this forum.

    I would suggest you to follow the below steps to change the font size and check if it helps.


    • Type fonts on the search bar and select it.

    • Click on change font size from the left pane.

    • Make changes according.
