  1. "Incorrect password" after windows update - reoccurring issue help please?

    Hi there,

Since September i have been suffering windows update issues which is now getting frustrating.

i have been on the forums once regarding this and used the windows update hider to hide the effected update.

but since September it has continued with one update after the other updating then causing me to be locked out My account is local not microsoft

i then have to uninstall the update to be able to get back into my account and recently, the windows update box warned me my laptop is out of date.. and missing important security / bug fixes..

this has become seriously frustrating and i do not want to have to wipe my machine simple because updates do not work / lock me out?

can anyone help me with this issue as its beyond frustrating and i need this laptop for work / communication due to the restricted lockdown

    thanks

    A.

    :)

    Windows 10 password incorrect

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I will be glad to help you with the issue you are having with the computer. I understand the frustration when things don't work the way it should.

    • Are you using Microsoft or local account?

I would suggest you to press the eye icon on the password text box and check whether you have entered the correct password.

I would suggest you to use On-screen keyboard and try logging into your local account and check if it helps. Follow these steps.

    1. On login screen click Ease of access button on bottom left corner of the screen.

    2. Click on On-Screen keyboard (OSK).

    3. Try entering the password using OSK and check.

Hope this information helps you. Kindly post back with the updated issue for further assistance.

    Thank you.
