    Hello!


    So I'm kinda getting gray hairs over this now.


    I'm trying to boot into safe mode, but I cannot get past the login screen, keeps telling me I have an incorrect password. The one I am writing to you from is my Microsoft account, so obviously I know my password. Though in case I didn't, I actually had it changed to something extremely easy, just to make sure I typed it correctly, *and* typed it several times, and yes I have checked that the keyboard settings were correct and that I didn't have caps lock on. I am as sure as I can be that I typed it correctly, at least once, but probably every time.


    What is up with that? Do I have some auto-created local account password I don't know about? Some admin account that has the exact same account data, yet demands a hidden password I've never created, much less entered? Is Windows just as buggy as this website has proven to be? fifth time trying to talk to a live person, before I gave up and just posted here. Not even the feedback button is working, in two different browsers, including the classic IE.

    Incorrect Password Safe Boot

    In some cases Windows may remember the very first password entered during installation and ask for it during safe mode without network.

    Wireless connection may be unavailable during safe boot due to safe boot limitations - only limited list of drivers is loaded. Can you use wire network connection?

    started with safe boot + networking and it still shows the disconnected icon and incorrect password

    How do I get out of safe mode so I can reset my settings?

    1. Press Windows + R keys to open Run command.
    2. Type msconfig and press Enter.
    3. In the window, click on Boot tab.
    4. uncheck Safe boot, click on Apply and Ok. Restart
    Not sure why it started in Safe mode. May have been out of sync with your phone from prev incorrect password. See if restart fixes. At least, you know what your universal MS password is. *Wink
