Windows 10: increasing favorites section

How do I increase the space allocated to "favorites" and/or decrease the space allocated to "recents"? It only ever shows 2 at a time under favorites, even though I have more favorites than that. I would also really like to not have "pics" like .jpeg even show up in recents, but that is far less important.

To assist you better, I would like to know whether you are referring to the favorites folder created within the Internet Explorer.

If you lose the favorites saved within the Internet Explorer
and as an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to check if you are able to locate the favorites that has been missing from Internet Explorer.

• Click This PC.
• Type %userprofile% into the Address bar
  
• Press Enter on your keyboard
• Click on Favorites and check if the missing favorites are there.
  

If you are able to locate the missing favorites, I suggest you to create a backup and try to import the favorites.

Your suggestion does not work. It did work on Windows 7.

  Are you referring to Microsoft Edge Browser/internet Explorer favorite?
  

The favorite that you are referring is Edge or Internet Explorer browser, I would suggest to clear cookies and history or right-click on the list which you want to remove by selecting delete.

Follow the steps on how to clear cookies.

To view your browsing history, select Hub >
History. To delete it, select Clear all history, choose the types of data or files that you want to remove from your PC, then select
Clear.

Note: applicable to Edge browser.

For internet Explorer follow the steps below.

  Open Internet Explorer, Click on the favorite menu.
  
• 
  Choose “Organize favorite”, click on favorite you wish to delete.

  Click on delete which can found below.
