Increasing size of mirrored screen using Projecting to a PC using 2 Surface Pro.

I have 2 Surface Pros which I am using for in home sales presentations, one for customers to view and one for me to present from. I have connected wirelessly with "Projecting to this PC" via miracast. It does wirelessly project but the image on the projection screen resizes smaller than the host screen so it is difficult for customer to see. How can I make the image fill the screen just as it looks on the host screen?Host is using Windows 11Mirrored screen using Windows 10

  2. Projecting to a windows 11 laptop from a windows 10 surface pro

    Hi Cooper McVay,

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community. We appreciate for sharing your concern to us.

I am aware of your desire to use your Surface Pro as an extended desktop by projecting it onto your laptop. I am here to help and let us work on this together. Allow me to ask some questions.

    • May I know which Surface pro 9 processor do you have, the Intel or 5G?
    • What is the make and model of your laptop that you want to project?
Here are a few things you can try:

    1. Make sure that both devices are on the same network and that they are connected to the internet.
    2. Check that both devices have the latest updates installed, including any firmware updates for the Surface Pro.
    3. Try disabling any firewalls or antivirus software temporarily to see if that is causing the issue.
    4. Try connecting the Surface Pro to another device to see if the issue is with the laptop or the Surface Pro.
You may also follow the instructions provided from this article Screen mirroring and projecting to your PC - Microsoft Support on how to project your screen to a Windows PC.

Let me know how it goes.

    Kind regards,

    Lavenia

  3. screen mirroring

    Hi Hatty,

There is a way for you to control the remote screen whenever you are trying to mirror it from one device to another. To provide you an appropriate solution, please provide us the following information:

    • Which device are you using to mirror on your laptop?
    • Are you using an app to mirror the device on your laptop?
    • Are you able to use your mouse and keyboard on your laptop even if you are not playing a game while mirroring it from a device?

If you haven't tried to use your mouse outside a game while projecting to the PC, you may follow the steps below to allow your mouse and keyboard to control the remote screen:

    • Open Action Center.
    • Click the Connect button.
    • Click the name of the device you're trying to project.
    • Check the Allow input from a keyboard or mouse connected to this display
      option as necessary.

    Security with screen projection

    Hi Lashib95,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Surface support. I understand your concern about security when using your Surface Pro as a secondary monitor with your office laptop.

Firstly, I would like to inform you that when you use your Surface Pro as a secondary monitor with another device, it is called screen projection or wireless display. During this process, your Surface Pro is acting as a receiver for the other device's display output. It does not share any files or data with the other device unless you explicitly choose to do so.

However, it is important to note that if your personal laptop has any malware or virus, it can potentially infect the other device during the screen projection process. Therefore, it is recommended to ensure that your personal laptop is free from any malware or virus before using it as a secondary monitor.

To prevent any potential security risks, you can take the following steps:

    1. Ensure that both devices are connected to a secure and trusted network.

    2. Use a strong and unique password for your personal laptop to prevent unauthorized access.

    3. Enable Windows Defender or any other antivirus software on your personal laptop to scan for any malware or virus.

    4. Use the "Projecting to this PC" feature on your Surface Pro to control the screen projection settings. You can choose to require a PIN for connections, limit the devices that can connect, and choose whether to allow input from the other device.

Here are some articles that you may find helpful:

I hope this information helps. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to ask.

    Kind regards,
    Marrion
