  1. Indexing Broken in Windows 11 Painfully Slow At Best

HelloI have upgraded to Windows 11 Pro on two different laptops, and both have the same issue with indexing. It is painfully slow and then usually resets itself after a couple of weeks. Both PCs are high-end laptops with Core i9 mobile CPUs 1 x 6 core and the other 8 core. Both run 2 x NVMe 1TB drives. Both have 64GB RAM. Both run MS Office and I use Outlook for email connected to same IMAP accounts on both. My docs, pics, music and work-related files are all stored on OneDrive and accessed from both PCs OneDrive is set to keep local copies on both PCs for fast access. Windows is being aske

  2. Windows 10 - Painfully slow

Mine's the same. Painfully slow! And no, it's not at all the gradual aging of a computer. It was super fast and responsive until the moment Windows 10 went on. Now each double click just on a folder in the file explorer takes a long time to open and respond.

Windows 10 looks shiny and new, but under the hood it's so much slower than what it replaced.

Drivers have been updated too, so any other suggestions would be welcome!

    Thanks!

Windows Indexing seems to be broken

I've recently run into a problem with WIndows Indexing, mainly it's affecting my ability to use Outlook properly.

I've done some research and tried a few commonly suggested steps; this includes making sure that the Windows Search service is still running - I've restarted it several times to no avail. I've gone to Control Panel>Indexing Options, and tried to rebuild
the index, but whenever I hit the 'Advanced' button the window freezes, and won't open the next window for the Rebuild option.

I've tried moving 'Windows.edb' out of C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Search\Data\Applications\Windows in order to try and get it to rebuild, but this hasn't made any difference.

Nothing seems to be able to move Windows to rebuild the index, any suggestions would be appreciated.
