    Indexing options unable to add drives mounted on other drives

    I mount a read-only nas inside of E:\ to keep media separated from my software.

    After I decided to make my searchui.exe feel more comfortable with my installation I noticed I couldn't add these devices to the indexed locations, but if I indexed a subfolder I could search it indicating the files are accessible to the indexer. It is possible that showing these drives presents a security vulnerability, but I don't notice any registry options to disable this.Indexing options unable to add drives mounted on other drives [IMG]

    Search Not Indexing Optical Drive

    Thanks,

    • When you mentioned D Drive, are you pertaining to a partition or a separate external drive? - D Drive = Solid State Drive; 1 of 2 internal drives (the other being an optical drive);
    • Were you able to check if indexing was already completed? - Indexing completed on each attempt of rectification;
    • In the meantime, we suggest that you run the Search and Indexing troubleshooter - Done prior to posting; useless! It does not find any problems.

  3. Unable to display drive data

    Hi Sachin,

    I suggest that you rebuild the File indexing. Follow the below steps:

    • Open Indexing Options by clicking the Start button
    • Clicking Control Panel.
    • Type indexing options, and then click Indexing Options.

    • Click Advanced.

    • In the Advanced Options dialog box, click the Index Settings tab

    • Click Rebuild.
    Check and let us if the steps helped to fix the issue.

    Indexing options unable to add drives mounted on other drives

    Search Not Indexing Optical Drive

    Currently Windows 10 Pro is not indexing some files in my D Drive.

    I have checked that the D Drive is being indexed. I have already:

    • Rebuilt the index under the Advanced Options;
    • Restarted the computer after adding the D Drive and Rebuilding the Index;
    • Checked that File Types of Folders are not being excluded in Advanced Settings;
    • Changed Index Properties to Index Properties & File Contents in Advanced Options and reindexed again;
    Still many files are not showing from the D Drive.

    Can anyone help me with this?
