Windows 10: Initialize a new SSD card

Hi. Does the windows installer initialize and format a new unused SSD card? I will be installing a 2TB SSD in my computer and am trying to avoid cloning etc. The 2TB SSD would be the only drive in my computer when it's installed. I am asking because I have come across conflicted information on whether or not the Windows installer from a USB drive initializes a new SSD card. Thanks for you answers!

There is No “Initialize Disk” Option for My New SSD?

I’m setting up my friend’s new SSD, but I’m having trouble initializing it. It’s listed as Disk 0, is online, and is unallocated, but nevertheless the only options I get when I right-click it are to Convert to Dynamic Disk and Convert to MBR Disk. What’s going on here?

 

SSD not initialized and unable to initialize

There could be several reasons due to which ‘Disk Unknown Not Initialized’ error message may occur, which are mentioned as following:
Corrupt/ Incompatible/Outdated Driver, MBR Corruption, Missing or lost partition, Bad Sectors in hard drive, Corrupt File System etc. To solve this problem we apply some fundamental manual steps like: update the device driver,
Rebuild the MBR boot, initialized disk, assign a drive letter, Run CHKDSK command and Run diskpart utility.

To initialized the disk go to Disk management > and locate the drive that not initialized > the drive will show unallocated. > select unallocated disk > Right click on it > click initialized disk > select
between GPT > Click OK.

Once the process is done, you will redirected to main windows and check you can access it or not.

It sounds like it's already initialized to GPT, if those are the only choices. But if there's no option to format in Disk Mgmt then it might be stuck. Is there an error?

If none of those methods work run the manufacturer's Drive toolkit to diagnose the SSD, and/or contact the manufacturer's Support for how to proceed with initializing, diagnosing or RMA.
