Windows 10: InPlace upgrade Windows 2012 R2 to Windows 2019 fails with error ‘'0xC1900101 - 0x20017...

Hello world,I am trying to upgrade a Windows 2012R2 server to 2019 inplace.On reboot, the upgrade fails with the below error:‘'0xC1900101 - 0x20017 Installation failed during safe OS phase with an error during boot operation'”I have patched fully the Windows 2012R2 server prior upgrade.This is VMware machine.Any help is welcome.

Fail to upgrade from Windows Server 2012 R2 to 2019

Hi

I am trying to upgrade 2 vms of windows server 2012 r2 to 2019.

1st vm: Free space of 48gb, and successfully upgraded to 2019

2nd vm: Also have free space of 48gb, but keep on fail to upgrade. After reboot, bsod appear (Driver pnp watchdog error) then when its return back to windows, the installer shown (0xC1900101 - 0x20017 - The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with
an error during BOOT operation)

Any idea how to fix the 2nd vm? They both have same settings and windows update version.

Did you try the list of quick fixes which include removal of third party AV.
