Windows 10: input by "alt" key + more

Hello, 2 ways are well known:either hold the alt key and then use a 2 or 3 digit number to get the sign you want to haveor hold the alt key and use such number, but punch the 0 at first, and then another 2 or 3 digit code. However, there is a third option:hold the alt key and then punch the "+" in the digits-block at first before using the 2 or 3 digit code. That way, one can get to many more signs !! But for some reason, it isn't inside win7 any more. I had to make a new system coz I had a hard drive crash, and since then I cannot use that "third option" alt key plus "+" and 3

ALT keys not working after developers update

• Which type of Windows device are you currently using? (PC, tablet or laptop)

• If your device has 2 Alt button, does it happen on both Alt keys on the keyboard?
• Since you're trying to input a special character using Alt key, have you checked if the Num Lock key is activated?

In the meantime, we recommend that you check if Sticky Keys is turned on in the Accessibility settings. Sticky Keys lets you press one key at a time for keyboard shortcuts. To check, refer to the steps below:

• Click on Start.
• Click on the gear icon to open the Settings.
• Click on Ease of Access.
• On the left panel, click on Keyboard.
• Turn off Sticky Keys.

Follow the steps below to open On-screen Keyboard.

  Windows + Q, type OSK (on-screen keyboard)

Step 2: Run Hardware and device Troubleshooter.

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your devices. Refer these steps:

  Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
  
• 
  Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
  
• 
  Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.
  
• 
  Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter.

alt shift doesnt change input method after upgrading to windows 10

Follow the steps below and check if it works:

  Press Windows key + X
  and click on Control Panel.
  
• 
  Click on Clock, Language, and Region.
  
• 
  Click on Language and then click on
  Advanced settings.
  
• 
  Under the section ‘Switching input methods’ click on
  Change language bar hotkeys.
  
• 
  Click on Advanced key settings tab and then click on button
  Change Key Sequence and then choose from a list
  Switch Keyboard Layout your desired LEFT ALT + SHIFT hotkey.
  
• 
  Click on Save and then check if issue persists.
  

If issue still persists, I suggest you to use Windows key + Space and check if it works.
