Input Selector was missing from Windows 10 Taskbar

I use English-Dvorak for work, then switch to English-US (QWERTY) for gaming.

There is supposed to be an input selector on the far-right of the taskbar, but it was missing. I searched forums and found other people had the same issue.

I checked the settings and solutions provided by Microsoft representatives, and everything looked correct. Solutions included running "sfc /scannow", which fixed a few corrupt files.

My solution … I added Spanish as a language and the input selector finally appeared. I hope it stays.

Technical specs … ASUS GA502DU with Windows 10 Home. I bought it 7 days ago, with countless patches and updates in the past week of ownership.

    Question:

Is there a bug fix for this already from Microsoft?

    Thanks!

    :)

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:
    • Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
    • Try different keyboard or mouse.
    • Restart computer, repeatedly.
    • Google for related issues.
    • Update Bios, because why not.
    • Create boot media and revert to windows 7.
The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.

  3. Missing input language options on a taskbar in the secondary monitor

    Hi Cryxe,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

    1. Which version of Windows is running on your device?
    2. Since when are you facing this issue?

I can understand the inconvenience you are facing with the missing Input language on your secondary monitor. Here are the few settings troubleshooting steps which you can try to fix the issue.

    Step 1

    Check for Updates

    Click on
Start button, select Settings > Update and Security > Windows Update
    and select check for updates.

If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available.

    Step 2

    1. Press Windows +
      I key > Personalization > Taskbar.
    2. Turn
On show taskbar on all displays under “Multiple displays”.
    Step 3

    1. Press Windows +
      I key > Personalization > Taskbar.
    2. Scroll down and click on
Turn system icons on or off
      under Notification area.
    3. Enable (Turn On) the
Input Indicator and check the status of the issue.

    Hope it helps.

Input Selector was missing from Windows 10 Taskbar

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

i've seen this when the stock USB drivers went kaput. Only ever seen it once - i used a PCI USB 2.0 card and connected the mouse and keyboard to that, and manually updated the USB 2/USB 3 drivers.
