    Insallation problems with 2203 error


    Hi to all,


    I am new to this forum and I would ask a question to the Microsoft Community Forum. As far as I read, lot of people have crashed with the internal error 2203. Before writing, I have tried the methods suggested by all of you but I did not succeed. I am trying to install a 3D CAD software but I get the following message:

    I do a premise: Windows started to give me this message after the portable hard drive where I have stored the installer went in crash and the installation stopped. Would it be a cause?


    Then, I cannot find the "c:\windows\installer" folder as suggested by all of you, but I can find under "c:\windows\windows\installer. Despite this, I cannot check if the "installer" folder has right permissions set.


    So, could you help to visualize the properties of the "installer" folder and to fix this 2203 issue?

    One thing I can show is the 2203 error during an installation:

    This was attempting to install the Fed Government's SS calculator that I have used for many years. If I disable LUA in the registry, it will install fine.

    ERROR 2203

    I get the error 2203 every time I try to download skype, word, and etc. It has also stopped me from updating my windows. I currently have windows 10 and I have tried changing permissions. Help please?
