    Insanely slow boot up .


    My PC takes forever. It sometimes take 30-50 minutes or it just never loads. This happened 1 week ago. I can't get into safe mode cuz all it says is "your PC ran into a problem" or something like that. I tried system restore and command prompt. I watched YouTube videos, but none of them work. Idk if I have a virus or what.

    Boot performance may slow can be due to corruptions. To assist you better, kindly answer the following questions:

    • Have you made any recent changes before this issue occur?
    • Have you tried booting up your laptop in Safe Mode and check if the issue still persist?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

    Insanely slow HDD random read/write

    I'm playing tech support for a relative, and her (ASUS K53E) laptop SATA HDD has insanely slow random read/write. Sequential r/w is around 74 MB/s, which seems fine, but random is around 1 MB/s. Hard disk health is fine according to S.M.A.R.T. Win10 1709 Pro x64. Pentium B960; HM65 Express chipset using the Microsoft Standard SATA AHCI Controller driver. Windows update doesn't have any driver updates; Intel driver tool returns nothing; Asus website has no Windows 10 drivers. I'm at a loss, any suggestions?

    Help! Insanely Slow Boot Time!

    I know when I have my external 2TB drive plugged in, sometimes my boot time slows down. To fix that problem I went into the BIOS and told it to ignore the drive.
    You might want to check in your BIOS to see how they have set the boot devices...
    But honestly 5-10 minutes probably means something else is slowing it up. At what stage during the boot process does it stall at?
