Insistent popping/clicking noise when watching video or listening to audio

    Hi,

I have a Lenovo Legion Y540 laptop with Windows 10. The computer has an i7 processor, 16GB RAM, a solid state drive, and a dedicated graphics card with 6GB memory.

When I watch videos or listen to music, there is an insistent popping/clicking sound that happens. I tried changing the settings at the How-To Geek article here, and that didn't fix it https://www.howtogeek.com/285429/how-to-fix-crackling-or-popping-sound-on-a-windows-pc/

Then I downloaded LatencyMon, it told me I should disable CPU throttling settings in the Control Panel, and I believe I successfully disabled those according to the instructions here: https://isboxer.com/w/index.php?title=HOWTOInsistent popping/clicking noise when watching video or listening to audio :Disable_CPU_Throttling_in_Windows

None of these things fixed the issue. I've also tried it with the video card's "hybrid mode" both on and off. Didn't change it.

Also, now with the new audio drivers and new settings, LatencyMon is telling me that my system seems to be fine edit: now it's telling me it has the same problems as before and to disable CPU throttling, which I believe I've already disabled. Still getting a LOT of clicking/popping noises when listening to videos/music. How do I stop this???

With my last laptop, an Acer Aspire, it was making a popping noise, but when I upgraded it from 8GB RAM to 16GB, and added a solid state drive, the popping eventually stopped. But this computer already has 16GB RAM and a solid state drive! How do I stop this popping sound from happening?

    :)

  3. Audio is Choppy and makes Clicking noises

Yesterday I was just watching videos when suddenly the audio started getting choppy and made clicking noises. I tried reinstalling drivers several times, and I've tried messing around with audio settings to no avail. One time I restarted my computer after
uninstalling the Realtek audio device within Device Manager, and there were no popping and clicking issues, but once I restarted my computer again, it just started clicking again. Please help, I am very concerned as this is my last hope aside from reinstalling
windows as a whole, which would be a pain.
