  1. Inspiron 14 has been going into portrait mode on its own lately

After updating my computer a few months ago every time I go to wake my laptop up my display is in portrait mode. It's not a huge deal but it is annoying that I spent over $1k on this laptop and it does weird stuff like this and randomly going into tablet mode without the screen being flipped backwards.

  2. Permanently Remove Portrait Display Mode

I have rotation lock "on" in my laptop's settings, however my screen will still turn to portrait mode while my laptop is closed and I have to go into display settings and reset it to landscape after unlocking. I have an Inspiron 14 5410 2-in-1.

Is there a way to permanently remove the ability to display in Portrait mode from Windows 11? Not just disable, I want to remove my computer's knowledge of displaying in Portrait mode. I assume this is going to involve the Registry Editor, but I don't know what the D-Word would be. Please let me know if you have any solutions.

  3. Portrait mode Panorama

Not that I am an expert on Panorama pictures but my guess is to try to take them in Landscape mode for better results. I'm just guessing the panorama was designed to be used that way.

So I had never even tried it in portrait mode and just did it using Nokia Panorama. It worked OK but I just don't think the results are the same IMHO.

I suggest you just try it again (for practice) but I would advise going back to landscape mode.

    Just my thoughts....

    N900 PORTRAIT MODE FOR TEXTING

Agreed! It wouldn't be full portrait support, but for most things you can get away with one handed operation in landscape mode.. Typing one handed does seem to require portrait.. and that might be a good compromise

There is a brainstorming section over at

    Brainstorm - maemo.org - Talk

I wonder if that has already been suggested..
