Windows 10: Instalace w10 na formátovaný HD

NAS server gone after W10 update april 13th 2016

On april 13th 2016 W10 was automatically updated on my PC

After completing update my NAS server (Medion MD 86407) didn't react any more: "This map is empty".

And the NAS server showed a red led. Pointing to a failure.

Until that update the NAS server worked fine , because I just had used my files on the NAS with my notebook (in our homegroup).

I did restart the Nas server.

Followed by a restart of the Provider modem.

Next I did reset the NAS server.

Each of all these steps without any result.

What can I do to solve this problem?

 

Cannot connect to NAS after W10 Update

I recently upgraded to W10 from W8.1. Immediately after the upgrade the drives mapped to my local NAS (QNAP TS-212) worked fine. after the background updates subsequently installed and a couple of reboots later, the drives are no longer accessible and cannot
be remapped.

The error is: "The mapped network drive could not be created because the following error has occurred: The specified server cannot perform the requested operation."

I'm going to revert to W8.1 or try to back out all the updates as I've spent 8 hours on this, but was wondering if anyone else:

• Had the same issue
• Knows which update broke the mapping ability

I've browsed dozens of online forums and tried all the usual:

• It's not the NAS configuration. It worked fine beforehand, it hasn't changed configuration/bios/network details and another laptop with W10 connects fine as before, which should rule out compatibility/SMB version issues. My network settings are identical
  to the other laptop.
• Network settings such as NetBIOS, file sharing, network discovery and private network have been checked, changed and tried in many combinations.
• SMB service is running.
• Using Wireshark the SMB communication (NTLMSSP_NEGOTIATE, NTLMSSP_AUTH) look the same as the other laptop, especially the User and Path components.
• The QNAP client tools also fail to map any drives but can communicate with the NAS fine.

I suspect it is some deep-rooted authentication issue buried deep in the registry but somehow the SMB communication isn't happening.

If you want, we can do a step by step troubleshooting of your current situation:

If you are able to ping your Machine and it responds.

Try to view if your NAS appears on the Network List:

If Your NAS appears on the list, try to view it:

The available shares will be listed there.

Then Try to List the content of one of the directories:

This should list the content of the directory,

If all this works Try to map a drive on one share:

Pls reply with the "response" of the first "encounter" of a non positive output.

This exercise should reveal if you have a Network or Protocol or Cipher or Authentication problem.
