Windows 10: Install attempt Failed with April 1803 update - 0x800704c7

Hi,

Any help would be appreciated.

Installation fails at 86%, then 'restores to previous version'. On my 17th attempt trying everything under the sun to update.

Also have had error code 0xc1900101 as well, which i understand is device driver related.

Tried with minimal applications/programs installed, and devices/SSDs etc... but no change.

April 2018 Update 1803 fails to install

Windows Update attempts, but fails to install the April 2018 Update (1803) on a WinPro 10 64 bit machine.

The error occurs with a statement that it could not uninstall these apps:

> Hybrid laptops with discrete GPU connected to display.

The Uninstall and Refresh options which is offered does not resolve the issue.

Thoughts?

 

April update 1803

April update (1803) is rolled out to general public and is reaching all in sometime. Since hundred millions of devices need to be covered, hence it will take time to reach you.

You need not join Insider for 1803.

But if you want to install 1803 right away, you can do it now. You can upgrade to 1803 manually by following below steps.

Click Update now to update to 1803 through Upgrade Assistant.

OR

You can download the latest Windows 10 package from this link (media creation tool) and follow the instructions there to upgrade. Use the very simple instructions given under Using this tool to upgrade this PC to Windows 10
