Install both Amd (for graphics) and Nvidia (for compute) gpu

Receiving soon the components for my new PC I will use the disk with Win10 installation from the old PC.
Interested to know if it's possible also to use my old AMD gpu for the graphics (drivers are already installed in the boot disk I will shift from the old and soon unused PC) and install also the new Nvidia card to be used only for CUDA compute activities.

    :)

Please Help.. How to combine AMD & NVIDIA GPUs in windows 10.. ??

    Dear Santosh,

I have been asked to pose my query here as my question involves the steps to be taken to enable "Explicit Multi-Adapter" config in Windows 10..

    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/F...ows-10-?forum=windowsgeneraldevelopmentissues

If anybody can help me to configure a simultaneous combination of both AMD & NVIDIA GPUs, I would be very grateful..

    Thanks in Advance..

Windows 10 unable to install NVIDIA or AMD graphics drivers, any version

OK, let's see if anyone can solve this mystery!

    Problematic behavior

Two days ago, both Windows and AMD software and drivers updated and this computer stopped working, after having functioned normally for 9 months.

Starting with a fresh, up-to-date Windows 10 installation, everything works perfectly until I install a graphics driver, either AMD or NVIDIA. Roughly 1/3 through driver installation, the screen goes black and never recovers, even if I wait a whole hour.
While black, the monitor is still receiving a signal.

When I reboot the computer, the blue Windows logo appears momentarily with a spinning white circle underneath, then it goes to just a black screen with the spinning white circle and a mouse cursor. Nothing else. The white circle spins continuously for as
long as I'll let it (30 minutes).

    My troubleshooting

    • Booted to Windows disc, attempted startup repair on original install to no avail
    • Used command prompt to set default boot to safe mode, attempted to uninstall AMD drivers. AMD drivers not present under Add/remove Programs
    • Attempted AMD 17.5.2 driver installation in safe mode, received code 99 "AMD Installer Cannot Continue Because the Driver has not Been Digitally Signed"
    • Searched the internet/knowledgebases endlessly.
    • Attempted to follow AMD's recommended path to disable Driver Signature Enforcement, used Win+I to attempt to open Update & Security, Update & Security crashed upon opening.
    • Attempted to boot into safe mode with Driver Signature Enforcement disabled (F7), but for some reason USB device input doesn't work at this selection screen. I don't have a PS/2 keyboard or adapter to attempt that.
    • Used command prompt to disable Driver Signature Enforcement to the best of my ability (and the available documentation).
    • System not able to boot normally. Used command prompt to boot back into safe mode, attempted to install AMD 17.4.4 WHQL drivers. Again received code 99.
    • Blew away the old Windows 10 installation, cleaned both hard disks, reinstalled Windows 10 fresh using an .iso created today.
    • Attempted again to install AMD 17.4.4 WHQL drivers, same problem.
    • Reinstalled Windows 10 again.
    • Replaced AMD RX 480 with my old Gigabyte GTX 760. Attempted to install NVIDIA drivers. Same exact issue (interminable black screen, unable to boot back up)
    • Came here, wrote this. Help!
    Hardware

    • CPU: AMD FX 8370 Vishera 4GHz
    • Graphics: MSI Radeon RX 480 8GB GDDR5 OR Gigabyte GTX 760
    • RAM: EVGA 16GB DDR3-1866 (PC3-14900)
    • Motherboard: ASRock 970 Extreme3 AMD 970 (with latest BIOS)
    • Sound card: Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 (oh yeah, it's old)

    Failure conditions

    • Clean disk drives
    • Fresh install of Windows 10
    • Windows 10 image created 6/4/17
    • Windows 10 allowed to fully update before installing anything
    • First and only thing I install is the graphics driver
    • Graphics driver versions: 17.5.2 Win 10 64-bit non-WHQL and 17.4.4 Win 10 64-bit WHQL for AMD, 382.33 Win 10 64-bit WHQL for NVIDIA

Dell T5400 AMD RX460 GPU needs old Nvidia GPU

I am not one to ever post anything so I apologize if this is the wrong place!

My Google skills have failed to find an answer for something very strange that I've encountered. After days of looking online, I haven't found anyone ask this question. A quick background on my issue... I realize that the answer might be that the AMD RX460 isn't compatible buuuuuuut.

While trying to find out why the AMD RX460 installs just fine but the driver crashes no matter what... I saw somewhere (maybe here?) that it might work if I install the old GPU as well, it's a Nvidia Quadro. Just one post by someone, somewhere, wasn't obvious either. I tried just about everything you could think of to make it work and someone made a note that it could work but was ignored.

And what do you know? It does... If I don't get an answer then hopefully some one will see this and save themselves countless hours with a workaround.

Does anyone have any idea why that is? Would it be possible to maybe emulate the Nvidia GPU? Or does any one have anything in mind that I could try to get around this?

This old GPU is a pain because it heats up causing other issues. (Mainly my PC turns into a extremely loud jet after a few minutes of game play, the new GPU is in a tight spot due to its size, uneccesary heat being added to the machine kills me and just the thought of it taking up space is annoying.)

    Some observations I made:

Removing the old GPU will cause the new GPU to stop working So basically the AMD GPU NEEDS the Nvidia GPU to be physically installed.

The Nvidia GPU needs to be the primary graphics card or the AMD GPU will stop working.

I tried to disable SERR in the Bios, it did nothing.

I have Windows 10 installed (oh to any one having audio issues, change it to "ON" instead of "AUTO" in the BIOS, it'll work...)

    BIOS is up to date.

I tried just about everything you could imagine to get the AMD card to work on its own before I found out that installing the old Nvidia will make it work. (Reinstall, clean install, reformat, install old/new drivers, under the red moon while on a table with a horse mask Install both Amd (for graphics) and Nvidia (for compute) gpu :p , new motherboard!! fried it by accident lol)

Sorry for the long post! The answer might be "not compatible, it shouldn't even work what the heck. " but I thought I would try.

    Thanks!
