    I recently wanted to try linux for the first time. it was alright but I have a lot of services I need that just do not work on linux. so I tried to use a bootable usb and got the "install driver to show hardware" thing is I only currently have 1 usb. my question is: is it okay to add a new folder on the bootable usb for the driver for my laptop? or is that completely out of the picture.

    If you having an issue installing a driver that worked before you formatted or wont install on a fresh build, sometimes this means hardware damage

    Laptop driver/reformat question

    This is excellent advice. Writing down the list of installed devices prior to re-formatting will save you a lot of heartache. With that list, you won't have to try to figure out exactly which wireless card or web cam driver you need since there will likely be several to choose from.

    Allright, Thanks! Gonna reboot now and try and see if that annoyance shows up, although I don't have install drivers when I connect device set on windows update on hardware properties, it STILL insists on installing its own! Lmao... Brb gonna try out your suggestion! Thnx man
