Windows 10: Install error - 0x800711c7 on Windows 11 in S mode KB5007651 24H2 in 2025

There is another open question for this problem by another poster whom I responded to, but that question only got a little over 200 views in over a month. So, I created this one with more detail in the title. This has happened before in 2022 and it was fixed by Microsoft after more than 9k views in a couple of days.The update will not install on Windows 11 24H2 in S Mode. I suspect it's because the .exe fails in S Mode. Tried resetting Windows Update with Power Shell and installing the update by temporary disabling of S Mode via the option 7 in reboot trick. Hello,
I have windows 11 in the S mode, and while trying to use windows update the following Update for Windows Security platform - KB5007651 (Version 1.0.2109.27002) keeps failing and giving me the Install error - 0x800711c7. Due to my windows being in S mode i don't have access to CMD or app out of the microsoft store. I have tried restarting the computer in a clean boot and run the updates again but still it wont work

I have same problem. What is Microsoft doing. I too do not want to remove S mode.

Update KB5007651 cannot be installed due to Windows S Mode's own limitations.

The error code means: 0x800711c7 means: ERROR_SYSTEM_INTEGRITY_POLICY_VIOLATION - Your organization used Device Guard to block this app.

There is therefore nothing left but to ignore the update and hope that Microsoft will improve it.
