Windows 10: Install errors - 0x800f0900

Good afternoon, I have been having an issue with updating my computer for the past couple of days. The updates failing to update are as follows: 2022-12 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 22H2 for x64 KB5020880 and 2022-12 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems KB5021255. I keep getting the install error 0x800f0900 for both of them. I've read on forums in the community that have told others to follow command prompts and such. The only luck I've had so far is the removal of corrupted files from my computer but that has not

Can't install KB5016616. Error 0x800f0900

Hello, SnowCalibur1Neely.

I recommend the steps below:

• Step 1
  
  Uninstall your antivirus
  

• Step 2
  
  Delete temporary files from previous installations
  
  Press Windows + R keys to open the Run Menu;
  
  In the Run Menu, type CleanMgr and click Ok;
  
  Click Clean System Files;
  
  Select a drive where the system is installed;
  
  Enable all options and click Ok;
  
  Wait for completion and proceed to step 3.
  

• Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupt system files
  
  Click Start and type CMD;
  
  In the list of search results, right-click Command Prompt and click Run as Administrator;
  
  Type the following command sfc /scannow and press Enter.
  
  Wait for the scan to finish and when it's done, go to step 4.
  

• Step 4
  
  Clean boot
  
  Press Windows+R keys to open the Run Menu;
  
  In the Run Menu type Msconfig and click Ok;
  
  On the General tab click Normal Startup;
  
  Click on the Services tab and select Enable All;
  
  Enable the Hide all Microsoft services option and click Disable all;
  
  Click Apply > Ok.
  

Restart the system.
