Windows 10: Install Google Drive for PC

Hi, I am trying to install Google Drive for PC on my Surface X Pro. When trying to open the install file that I have downloaded I receive the error message: "Windows architecture is not supported". I have contacted Google and they replied that I should contact Microsoft support and that they believe that my version of device may not support Google Drive, which I found very strange given my Surface is brand new. I am using Version 10.0.19044 Build 19044, system type ARM65-based PC.Thank you for your help.

Google Drive not installing or connecting

Hi Christy,

To assist you better regarding your concern, may we know if you have tried running Google Drive as admin? If not, kindly do so. Also, try unchecking the
Run as Admin option and see if the issue persists. If it does, then it can be a compatibility issue between Google Drive and Windows update on the admin account. Kindly run Google Drive on a compatibility mode. To do so, follow the steps below:

• Open File Explorer
• Click This PC
• Click Local Disk (C
• Click Program Files (x86)
• Click Google
• Click Drive
• Right-click googledrivesync
• Click Properties
• Click Compatibility tab
• Click the check box "Run the program in compatibility mode for"
  
• Click Apply
• Click OK

Cannot install Google Drive on Windows 10 laptop

Could you please help me with the below questions:

1. Are you trying to install google drive via web browser or Windows Store?
   
2. Which version of Windows was installed on the computer before upgrading to Windows 10?
   
3. Did you had Google drive installed on this computer before the upgrade?
   

Meanwhile, please follow the troubleshooting steps as mentioned below:

Method 1: Remove google drive from pc.

1. Press Windows and
   R key together on your Keyboard.
2. Type appwiz.cpl and hit enter.
   
3. Search for Google Drive, if you find the app click on uninstall.
   
4. Once the app is removed, restart the computer.
   
5. Try to reinstall the app and check if it works.
   

If the above method doesn’t work, Use
Fix
problems that block programs from being installed or removed. Let us know if you need further assistance regarding this case.
