    I use image backup to an ISO file for my desktop computer that has Win10 OS. I want to purchase a new laptop but they only come with Win11 OS but I want to keep using Win10. Can I install the ISO image with Win10 OS onto the new laptop,? Do I need to remove the Win11 OS first beforehand or will the image overwrite and install Win10? Thank you

    Best way to OS to iso to install?!

    Norton ghost can make ISO's of a HDD but I would just suggest making a whole image and placing it on a thumbdrive cause its faster to install instead of useing a DVD drive.

    Best way to OS to iso to install?!

    I basically want to image an already installed OS (windows 8, 7 and xp)

    I already use programs like nlite or 7lite to strip and tweak OS, install and then further tweaks.

    But i want the entire thing in an iso. so that i can install the same state/copies time again. (if i were to do the image recovery way id have to mess with several drives and keep doing it that way)

    installing windows 10 backup and restore later


    1. Backup Vista
    2. Upgrade Vista->Windows 7 -> Windows 10. Get activated.
    3. Backup Windows 10.
    4. Clean Install Windows 10. Make sure still activated
    5. Backup a fresh copy of Windows 10
    6. Restore

    To perform step 4 i will need to have downloaded an iso and create a dvd or usb to boot from.....so will not this ISO be ok and the one you mention ?
