Windows 10: Install of PAID Win 11 stopped by "Virtual Box" App which DOES NOT SHOW in my app list?

I got tired of Waiting for free Win 11 and have bought a copy. It made it all the way through download, install and then, at updates, it gave notice that "VirtualBox" app was 'incompatible' and needed to be removed. I can NOT find "Virtual Box" anywhere in my system!!?? I even used a third party App Remover. NO SUCH App identified?? NOW, I am sitting here waiting to COMPLETE, stuck on "Virtual Box" "removal"!! Has anyone a SOLUTION or experienced this?? WHAT is the FIX?? ASAP PLEASE!!!

Apps not showing in app list

Could you answer the below questions:

• 
  Are you using a Local account or a Microsoft Account?
  
• 
  Is Cortana able to search the apps installed?
  

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if that helps.

• Type Start Settings in Search and hit
  Enter.
• Turn on Show recently added apps in jump list of Start of Taskbar.

Please also run SFC scan and check if the issue persists. System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files.

• 
  Press Windows key + X key.
  

• 
  Select command prompt (admin).
  
• 
  Type the below command:
  

sfc /scannow

Please get back to us with the necessary detail so that we can resolve your issue at the earliest.

 

NEWLY added apps are not showing on Start App list

1. Is Cortana able to search the apps installed?

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if that helps.

• Type Start Settings in Search and hit
  Enter.
• Turn on Show recently added apps in jump list of Start of Taskbar.

Marketplace thinks app is installed, when it isn't (and so I cannot re-install)

Hi Beatriz, and thankyou for your response. Actually, it does not answer the problem, unfortunately.



I cannot follow the step you suggest ('uninstall the free trial') because the app (neither the free trial nor the paid app) does not appear on my application list.



If I search for the app on marketplace, it won't let me install it (free trial or paid app) because it says that it is already installed. But because it does not show up on my app list, I cannot uninstall it.



It looks like the only answer is a hard reset and restore to factory settings. This is not a good answer really!
