Windows 10: Install on an HP Laptop, not sure how to proceed.

Hi,


I'm trying to do a clean install on a friends computer, he wanted me to remove the HP recovery partitions and install windows on the newly expanded partition. I've hit a total roadblock with what to do. Firstly i deleted all the partitions and expanded to create one larger partition. I've then formatted and tried to install windows.

I then received the error we could not create a new partition, so I followed a guide a found that told me to use Diskpart to clean, partition, active the partition etc.

I then encountered the problem of my USB not appearing in the list of available devices to boot from. To fix this I enabled legacy mode and disabled secure boot configuration.

I now have a message saying "An operating system wasn't found. Try disconnecting any drives that don't contain an operating system"

I'm at a bit of a loss what to do next, I can't access Disk Part again to try and fix and honestly don't know if I've messed up the laptop so badly that it's now almost unfixable.

Any advice or suggestions of what to do would be most appreciated!

HP Stream 11 under Windows 10 - Touchpad not recognized.

Are you making sure you are trying the correct driver for the WiFi... They list Broadcom, Intel, and/or Realtek.

Also, try to run the installer as an administrator install.

If that fails... try extracting the files and manually install the driver.

This is a frequent problem am sure as you have already seen from online searches.

Flea power is usually the culprit here, basically its residual power that remains on the computer even after thecomputer has been shutdown. You can drain the flea power with the steps the other answers have suggested.

• Disconnecting the battery and adapter
• Press the hardpress the power button for 30 seconds
• This should clear the flea power
